Happy to Be Humble

Happy to Be Humble

Play:  Have your child describe to you what their day would be like as a famous person (movie star, athlete, political figure).  How would they use their money, fame, and power?

Relay:  We sometimes think that the blessed people are those with a lot of money, fame, or power.  However, Jesus said that the happiest people are those who do not think if themselves as great, mighty, or wonderful (Matthew 5:3).  Rather, they know that God is the One who is to be admired.  This is called humility.  Jesus preached that these are the people who are a part of His kingdom.  Money may not buy happiness, but humility will result in blessing.

Obey:

Why do you think money, fame, and power can keep us away from God?

What is humility?

How do you think you become more humble?

Pray: Ask God to help you be humble and recognize how great God is.

Scripture of the Day: Matthew 5:3
